Our Dubai Engagement Party

Hello friends, bloggers and fellow Brides-to-be,

Not all engaged couples decide to have an engagement party, but we decided to. My fiancée and I hosted our own engagement party, at my humble abode, we both live in Dubai and have no family here, so we decided to celebrate with our closest Dubai friends only.

Engagement parties don’t have to be a grand affair, they can my initiate and cost friendly.

Tip: Host your own engagement party, save on costs and purchase your own food, drinks and decor

Tip: Upload all your favorite tunes as a couple on your iPod and play away.

Our friends were so amazing and baked cakes, brought tiara’s, made mocktails all night for guests and took pro pics. I never asked them to do any of it and they took it upon themselves. My girls made some touching speeches at the toast and some of us stayed up until 3.30am.

Throughout the night there was laughing, cake cutting, dancing, alien talk, love/wedding talk and some sofa snuggles in the early hours watching movies, after we were all whacked from the madness,,,,,We had such a good night, simple is sometimes so much better. Here are a few pics from the evening.

Check out the beautiful cake made by my Dubai based Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid. The icing in the Signature Saffron color of SriLanka, and the common flower of SriLanka surrounding it. We are getting married in Sri Lanka.
