Serenaded down the aisle – My choice.
What music plays as you walk down the aisle, ready to commit yourself legally and spiritually to your life partner? Of course in western tradition, the most common piece of music to play is the traditional Wagner’s “Here Comes the Bride” and Pachelbel’s “Canon in D”. However, these days, more often than ever before, the bride and groom opt for songs that reflect their personalities or feelings towards one another.
There are no rules or regulations regarding ceremony music and this can be completely tailored to your specific preferences. Music has the ability to evoke emotion, create atmosphere and set the scene, and often music or a particular song attaches itself to life long memories, always reminding us of specific moments in the book that is our life.
Whilst I won’t share our song choice, as we have to leave some elements of surprise, I will reveal that I have chosen to be serenaded down the aisle but two of my closest and dearest friends. I am honored to have been born into a creative, artistic and musical family and I feel it would be a travesty not to incorporate these talents into my wedding somehow.
Nothing would be more special to me then to have my two girls, who also happen to be one of my bridesmaids and my maid of honor, sing me down the aisle on one of the most important days of my life. My girls are also in a band called ‘RedNPink’ and they have a healthy fan base across Europe, it won’t be long, I am sure before you hear them on the radio or in the charts.
I have posted a video below of one of their songs, written and co-produced by themselves ‘Forbidden Love‘, which I feel show cases their incredible vocal talent, but the song I have chosen for them to sing on my wedding day, will remain top secret until the big day.
ENJOY!
