Welcome Drinks for our International Wedding Guests – THE JETTY LOUNGE
Hello fans,
WOW, so today marks exactly 3 months until our BIG day on November 22nd. Arghhhh! Time is flying and the nerves are kicking in.
I feel like I have soooo much to do still, yet all my vendors and friends seem to think I’m ultra-organized :S. I’ve recently got the flu too, just think it’s all caught up with me.
Anyway, today I ticked another thing off the list. Confirming and reserving welcome ‘sun downers’ for our international guests a few days before the wedding.
Adam and I felt that since so many people we love are making the effort and spending a small fortune to attend our wedding in Dubai, it was the least we could do. Yes, it all costs money and yes, it’s a strain if I’m honest, but we have managed and cut back where possible to be able to do this.
So, we tentatively confirmed with the JETTY LOUNGE a few months back, but because of their policies, we could not 100% confirm until 3 months prior to the event, i.e.: today!
Found at the One&Only Royal Mirage, the Jetty lounge is a beautiful, chilled beach bar with a warm and relaxed vibe, just what we were looking for. We will have an area big enough to accommodate our international guests, looking directly out onto the beach and have ordered chilled beers and wines, along with nibbles to welcome our guests. I’ll bring some pretty balloons to highlight our table, and the ambience, music, along with the company will be enough to make it a night to remember.
We wanted somewhere ‘casually classy’ if that makes sense, he-he. I think our guests will love it!
I would highly recommend doing the same thing if you are also having a Dubai wedding with international guests, host welcome drinks a few nights before, it does not have to be for ALL your guests, just those travelling from afar and your bridal party. You can keep costs down by ordering the ‘welcome’ drinks and guests can buy thereafter or if you are lucky enough to have a villa with a garden, why not have a homely welcoming BBQ?
I’d also recommend the Jetty Lounge, as it’s gorgeous and the manager Stephane Levan is lovely too and a pleasure to deal with.
Back soon with my ‘To-do’ list and some home truth vents!
Ciao for now
Rio x
