My Wedding Planning Update – Wedding in Dubai.
Hi lovelies.
Where to start? It’s been a while, there is so much to say and update you on, but I will try not to ramble on too much (Yes, I know that’s hard for me).
OK, let’s start off with how far we have left until the big day, we are 18 days away from D day, I cannot believe how quickly time has gone and in the blink of an eye it will all be over, I’m not sure if I’ll be sad, happy or relieved, ha-ha!
Anyhow, a few weeks ago, I thought I had almost everything done and then I remembered a few things and then soon after, those few things became a big long list, I’m pleased to say though, that that list is gradually getting smaller.
It’s really just the details now that I am sorting and meetings with vendors. For example, picking up small décor items, filling favor bags, confirming proofs for ‘on the day stationery’, getting gifts for my BM’s, buying the right shade of lipstick to carry with me for the day, final few dress fittings and so on. It’s been hard doing all this without a car, but I’m managing somehow.
In regards to my dress, I had my 2nd to last fitting yesterday at the Bridal Room Dubai and my dress had to be taken in a whole size, I was so worried that it would lose its shape and gorgeous ruching, but luckily it did not affect the overall look too much.
My dress is now snug and fits perfectly. I’ve never told myself this before, but I can’t lose any more weight,..ha-ha, that feels awesome to say. I’ll try and maintain my current weight and then continue with my target goal after the wedding. So far I’ve lost 7kgs and feel great, it’s a healthy weight loss and I haven’t starved myself for the sake of one day, I’m glad I did it slowly and realistically. Ive actually just embarked on a detox, and I will blog about that soon.
Moving on from the fittings, I knew I wanted some pretty signage and a few bits for our wedding and came across Kuki Dubai, the girls at Kuki have been awesome and have made some wonderful wooden signs for me, in addition to a few other things. If you are looking for any type of crafted wooden signage for your big day check them out. Their work is fab!
Finally, Adam and I had a much needed catch up with our venue and on the day ‘coordinator’ Clare from the Perfect Moment Dubai, the meeting was held to ensure we are all on the same page in terms of time line and what needs to be done. Our wedding day time line is almost complete, and once that is done, I can breathe a sigh of relief and start to relax a bit in the lead up to the big day. Clare will be contacting all my vendors prior to the wedding to ensure they know what time to arrive, set up schedules, permissions, etc…
So, I could go on and on about every single meeting I’ve had over the past two weeks but that would just be boring, so let’s focus on my best buddies wedding. My Matron of honour Camilla, is about to also have her very own wedding blessing this Friday, at the gorgeous Saadiyat Island/Park Hyatt Hotel.
My fiancé and I are bridesmaid and usher, so I’ve also been helping her out a bit as well as planning my own wedding, we picked up our Bridesmaids dresses today from the talented Morai style (moirai is also doing my BM dresses) and I can’t wait to share some images with you all next week. Actually, Moirai is now also making me a veil, the veil I originally ordered from a designer in the USA just wasn’t what I expected, so Moirai is coming to the rescue.
I just know Camilla’s wedding with be a beautiful one full of love….I’ll be posting updates on the bride club me Instagram account #BRIDECLUBME, so tune in on Friday, there will be no images of the bride and groom though, just a few pics of set up, me and guests.
It’s now 10.30pm and I have to be up for a kick ass personal training session tomorrow at 6.30am, sighhhhhhhhhhhh! Whyyyy!!!??? I’m also meeting our wedding emcee Dave Crane tomorrow to go over his bits for the day and I have quite a bit of work to catch up on with www.brideclubme.com, I’ll tell you more about the funny Dave soon, he’s a great guy and always full of jokes.
I won’t be updating the blog on Thursday, as I’ll be en route to Abu Dhabi for my friend’s wedding, but I promise to post an update about the day, early next week.
Take care folks and Happy Diwali to all those celebrating.
Ciao for now
Rio
